HOW WE'RE GOVERNED
Walden Woods is governed by an association known as the Walden Woods Conservancy, Inc which is controlled by homeowners residing within the community. The Conservancy's Board of Directors consists of 12 homeowners elected for the calendar year by homeowners attending the Annual Homeowner Meeting in December. A comprehensive amendment to the Declaration, approved by homeowners in June of 2005, allocates two directors from the Woodmoor Council, one director from the Ridge Council and three directors each from the Village, Duplex and Townhome Councils.
Community-related business is discussed and decisions made public at the Conservancy Board of Directors Meetings held at the Meeting House on the last Wednesday of each month. All homeowners are invited to attend and have the opportunity to present any complaints and issues to the Conservancy Board members for resolution. All decisions and actions taken by the Conservancy Board must be in compliance with state law and the Conservancy's published regulations.
To assist them in their decision making, the Conservancy Board has established advisory committees composed of volunteer homeowners. The committees either pro-actively or as charged by the Conservancy Board, provide recommendations to the Conservancy Board after performing whatever research and analytical activity is required. In addition, the Conservancy Board is assisted by a Property Management Company that is contracted to provide administrative and planning support.
