STANDARDS COMMITTEE

The Standards Committee's job is to enforce the architectural and design restrictions that each Walden Woods homeowner agrees to upon purchase of a home in Walden Woods.  Unlike other committees that serve the Conservancy Board of Directors in a strictly advisory capacity, the Standards Committee has enforcement powers, but affected homeowners may appeal the committee's decisions to the Conservancy Board.  The committee gets involved when a Walden Woods homeowner wants to make an exterior change to their home or the property surrounding it.  To find out more about the  process, please see External Changes to Property.

The committee also gets involved when there is a report of a suspected violation of a covenant or rule such as:

  • Pets must be curbed and waste disposed of immediately
  • No signs (except for real estate signs needed in the sale of a home)
  • No garage or tag sales (except for the annual community-wide sale authorized by the Conservancy Board)

The Standards Committee is composed of 5 - 7 members with at least one homeowner representative from each of the five Councils  selected by the Conservancy Board.

Members:
Glenn Brand
Marian Farley
Dale Herrick
Kim Reed
Charles Wimberley
Barry Towers (Board Liaison)
