STANDARDS COMMITTEE

The Standards Committee's job is to enforce the architectural and design restrictions that each Walden Woods homeowner agrees to upon purchase of a home in Walden Woods.  Unlike other committees that serve the Conservancy Board of Directors in a strictly advisory capacity, the Standards Committee has enforcement powers, but affected homeowners may appeal the committee's decisions to the Conservancy Board.  The committee gets involved when a Walden Woods homeowner wants to make a change to the exterior of their home or the property surrounding it.  To find out more about the property change process, please see Regulations & Documents.

The committee also gets involved when there is a report of a suspected violation of a covenant or rule such as:

  • Pets must be curbed and waste disposed of immediately
  • No signs (except for real estate signs needed in the sale of a home)
  • No garage or tag sales (except for the annual community-wide sale authorized by the Conservancy Board)

The Standards Committee is composed of 5 - 7 members with at least one representative homeowner from each of the five Councils and are selected by the Conservancy Board.

Members:
Paul Giampolo
Kim Reed
Dave Mella
Bill Robertson
Barry Towers
(Board Liaison pending election of new Board Members)
